Аналитическая компания Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) опубликовала ежегодный рейтинг городов по уровню комфорта для жизни. Столица Австрии 🇦🇹лидировала в нем третий год подряд.
Всего в 2024 году были исследованы 173 города по всему миру по следующим критериям: здравоохранение, стабильность, инфраструктура, образование, культура и окружающая среда. Вена получила высшие оценки по всем параметрам, за исключением последних двух, поскольку в городе не проходили крупные спортивные события в текущем году.
По оценке EIU, топ-10 городов самых пригодных для жизни в 2024 году выглядит так: 1. Вена, Австрия 🇦🇹 2. Копенгаген, Дания 🇩🇰 3. Цюрих, Швейцария 🇨🇭 4. Мельбурн, Австралия 🇦🇺 5. Калгари, Канада 🇨🇦 5. Right now the digital security needs of Russians and Ukrainians are very different, and they lead to very different caveats about how to mitigate the risks associated with using Telegram. For Ukrainians in Ukraine, whose physical safety is at risk because they are in a war zone, digital security is probably not their highest priority. They may value access to news and communication with their loved ones over making sure that all of their communications are encrypted in such a manner that they are indecipherable to Telegram, its employees, or governments with court orders. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. Some privacy experts say Telegram is not secure enough In February 2014, the Ukrainian people ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, prompting Russia to invade and annex the Crimean peninsula. By the start of April, Pavel Durov had given his notice, with TechCrunch saying at the time that the CEO had resisted pressure to suppress pages criticizing the Russian government.
