В Южно-Сахалинске стартовало строительство центра водных видов спорта. Сдача объекта запланирована на 2024 год. Ход работ проинспектировал заместитель председателя правительства Сахалинской области Сергей Олонцев. Отмечается, что работы идут по графику, на площадке уже завершено устройство котлована, бетонирование конструкций подземной части здания.

Новый центр водных видов спорта будет объектом олимпийского уровня. Здесь будет бассейн размером 50х25 метров, глубиной до 3 метров, рассчитанный на 10 дорожек. В нем будут проходить тренировки и соревнования по плаванию и водному поло.

Помимо зала с бассейнами здесь расположатся фойе, буфеты, ложа для зрителей, помещения для спортсменов, тренеров, восстановительный комплекс для реабилитации инвалидов, судейские комнаты и конференц-зал. Вмещать центр будет более 1000 человек.
