Я, естественно, не говорю о каких-то фронтовых сюжетах, но имею в виду книги, которые подразумевали бы и учитывали события новейшей политической истории. Я спрашивал студентов: почему вы не пишете об этом? Ответов, по сути, было два. Одни не пишут, потому что стараются жить, будто ничего особенного не происходит. Другие, напротив, живут в этом — это огромная и болезненная часть их повседневности, и они отвлекаются от происходящего в литературе.
