Людмиле Балашовой назначили наказание в виде 8 лет лишения свободы, назначив штраф в размере 3 млн 660 тысяч рублей. Осужденную взяли под стражу в зале суда.
Кроме того, Людмилу Балашову лишили права заниматься деятельностью, связанной с оказанием врачебной практики в области диетологии, в течение 3 лет.
