Указом президента РФ за мужество и героизм, проявленные при исполнении воинского долга, капитану Дмитрию Авдонину, военнослужащему 7-й гвардейской десантно-штурмовой дивизии присвоили звание Героя России.
Авдонин командовал группой при обороне опорного пункта, сам оказывал первую помощь раненым бойцам, что помогло сохранить военнослужащим жизни. Героические действия капитана позволили отразить многочисленные атаки противника и выполнить поставленную задачу, несмотря на полученное им ранение.
Военнослужащий находился на передовой с первых дней СВО. За проявленный героизм ранее капитана уже наградили медалью Жукова.
