Институт был построен в 1929 году по проекту Алексея Викторовича Щусева в стиле конструктивизма. За всё время своего существования санаторий поменял несколько названий. Изначально, задуманный в виде отеля-санатория, комплекс именовался просто — санаторий №7. В 1959 году институт получает имя знакомое многим сочинцам — Сочинский научно-исследовательский институт курортологии и физиотерапии.
В конце девяностых институт был опять реорганизован в Научно-исследовательский центр курортологии и реабилитации.
У здания с июля 2019 новый владелец, вроде как даже что-то пытаются с ним сделать.

"Someone posing as a Ukrainian citizen just joins the chat and starts spreading misinformation, or gathers data, like the location of shelters," Tsekhanovska said, noting how false messages have urged Ukrainians to turn off their phones at a specific time of night, citing cybersafety. Just days after Russia invaded Ukraine, Durov wrote that Telegram was "increasingly becoming a source of unverified information," and he worried about the app being used to "incite ethnic hatred."
