Предположительно, подобная схема окраски должна играть роль "обманчивого камуфляжа" для затруднения визуальной идентификации реальных габаритов ракетоносца в случае атаки дронов или ракет с камерой для распознавания целей.

Также можно заметить установленные после прошлогодней атаки защитные габионы, разделяющие Ту-95МС между собой. Никакой защиты от атаки сверху так и не предусмотрено, однако такие барьеры частично спасут хотя бы соседние ракетоносцы в случае поражения одного из них.
