Сообщается, что ранее присоединение Индонезии было одобрено всеми членами БРИКС.
Расположенное в Юго-Восточной Азии государство насчитывает 282 миллиона жителей, а по ВВП, подсчитанному по покупательской способности, занимает восьмое место в мире, немного отставая от Бразилии, но опережая Францию.
Таким образом, число членов БРИКС достигла 10 государств: это Бразилия, Россия, Индия, Китай, ЮАР, ОАЭ, Иран, Египет, Эфиопия, ну и теперь ещё и Индонезия.
