برخلاف تصور رایج در بین گروهی از مردم، امیکرون BA.1 (امیکرون 21K) غول مرحلۀ آخر نیست!

در بعضی کشورها، هنوز BA.1 نرفته، شیوع امیکرون BA.2 (امیکرون 21L) در حال افزایش است.

فعلاً به نظر می‌رسد BA.2 بیماری شدیدتری را ایجاد نمی‌کند اما ضریب تکثیرش از BA.1 بیشتر است.

امیکرون BA.2 به‌خاطرِ نداشتن دلیشن 69/70 در اسپایک، به روش
SGTF (S-gene target failure)
در پی‌سی‌آر نمی‌توان مانند اُمیکرون اولیه BA.1 ماهیتش را حدس زد، هرچند 🔴تست پی‌سی‌آرِ شخص مبتلا مثبت می‌شود.
(توقع از PCR تشخیص وجود ناول کوروناویروس است نه تشخیص نوع واریانت)
اما همین که به‌راحتی ماهیتش حدس زده نشود برای کشورهایی که ردیابی واریانتهای مختلف برایشان اهمیت دارد تاحدی گمراه‌کننده است.

اگر بخواهیم از روی SGTF، امیکرون BA.1 را از دلتا تشخیص دهیم، امیکرون BA.2 را با دلتا اشتباه می‌گیریم.
