Платформа 13-6701 разработана в 2019 году совместно РЖД и «Федеральной грузовой компанией». Проектировщик был выбран на конкурсной основе, им стал «Завод металлоконструкций». В прошлом году предприятие получило сертификат РС ФЖТ на данный вагон. Сейчас на сайте ФГК обозначена потребность компании в 100 платформах модели 13-6701.
