По словам источника, вертолет был уничтожен самими сотрудниками ЧВК при эвакуации.
Первоначально заявлялось о принадлежности вертолета к ЧВК SSTEP, однако её основатель Ээбен Барлоу публично опроверг факт участия компании в боевых действиях в Мозамбике. Местные СМИ утверждают, что вертолет являлся собственностью другой южноафриканской ЧВК – Dyck Advisory Group (DAG) бывшего родезийского полковника Лайонела Дайка.
