Губернатор края Владимир Солодов считает, что это необходимо сделать, чтобы «в текущей ситуации турбулентности, введения санкций со стороны недружественных государств и других непредсказуемых процессов» обеспечить рыбопромышленникам «стабильный надежный спрос». А еще он уверен, что камчатский рыбопромышленный комплекс может полностью обеспечить потребности внутреннего рынка в рыбных ресурсах.
Сейчас на внутренний рынок уходит меньше 30% произведенной рыбопромышленниками продукции, остальное идет на экспорт. Ежегодно дальневосточные рыбаки добывают порядка 1,7 миллиона тонн минтая, из них только 250-300 тысяч тонн отправляется на российские прилавки.
