В 2014 году его отреставрировали и открыли источник. Вода из колодца считается чудотворной. Существует предание, о чудесном выздоровлении крестьянина в 1842 году из Саввинской Слободы от тяжелой болезни, во сне которому явился преподобный Савва и повелел пить воду из колодца "который в роще за оврагом", после чего произошло исцеление болящего.
