Туристы Филипп Майер и Марсель Шоен, потеряв машину в болоте на полуострове Кейп-Йорк (северо-восточная оконечность австралийского континента), были вынуждены собрать все необходимое в рюкзаки и пройти более 60 км прежде, чем им помогли рейнджеры.
Известно, что автомобиль увяз в болотах национального парка Ояла Тумотанг, там, где на картах была обозначена грунтовая дорога. По словам местных жителей, это не первый раз, когда сервисы навигации указывают неправильное направление.
Рейнджеры подчеркнули, что ситуация могла закончиться плачевно, если бы путешественники были старше и хуже подготовлены.
