Впрочем, основную долю природного газа США используют на собственные нужды — в электроэнергетике и химии. При этом внутреннее потребление ежегодно и агрессивно растет, создавая «ножницы» для экспорта. Основной экспорт США — это трубный газ в Мексику, а уж потом экспорт СПГ. Отсюда (временный) запрет на выдачу новых экспортных СПГ-лицензий. Для США, как экономики, выгоднее дешевый внутренний газ, нежели дорогой внешний (идеально и то и это сразу) . Дешевый газ — допинг для промышленности, энергетики, а значит, и энергоемкой IT-отрасли.
При этом, в отличие от сланцевой нефти, геологических ограничений (запасов, технологий, стоимости добычи) у американской газовой отрасли заметно меньше. То есть он с нами надолго, и с этим нужно жить закладывая это в том числе в долгосрочные стратегии «Газпрома» и НОВАТЭКа.

He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
