🇷🇺🇹🇷 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putinmet with President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Astana.
💬Vladimir Putin: Mr President, we maintain regular contact, discussing developments between our two countries, the situation in the region, and in the world. However, we have not seen each other for a long time. I am delighted to see you again.
I would like to note that relations between Russia and Türkiye are progressing despite the current challenges in the world. The last few months saw a slight decline in trade, but it still remains relatively high: US$55 billion, if we count in US dollars.
All our large projects are being implemented on schedule. There are no delays. I would like to note last year the Russian tourist flow in Turkiye was record high with 6.3 million of our touristsvisiting Türkiye. I would like to express my gratitude for the conditions the country has created for Russian tourists.

"We're seeing really dramatic moves, and it's all really tied to Ukraine right now, and in a secondary way, in terms of interest rates," Octavio Marenzi, CEO of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance Live on Thursday. "This war in Ukraine is going to give the Fed the ammunition, the cover that it needs, to not raise interest rates too quickly. And I think Jay Powell is a very tepid sort of inflation fighter and he's not going to do as much as he needs to do to get that under control. And this seems like an excuse to kick the can further down the road still and not do too much too soon." Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers. There was another possible development: Reuters also reported that Ukraine said that Belarus could soon join the invasion of Ukraine. However, the AFP, citing a Pentagon official, said the U.S. hasn’t yet seen evidence that Belarusian troops are in Ukraine. Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. VK is Russia’s equivalent of Facebook, a social network used for public and private messaging, audio and video sharing as well as online gaming. In January, SimpleWeb reported that VK was Russia’s fourth most-visited website, after Yandex, YouTube and Google’s Russian-language homepage. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” Recently, Durav wrote on his Telegram channel that users' right to privacy, in light of the war in Ukraine, is "sacred, now more than ever."
