On July 29, 2024, Maxim Rubin, Consul General of Russia in Erbil, met with Safeen Dizayee, Minister, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Both sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues on the regional agenda with an emphasis on the current political situation in Iraq and the preparations for the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region. They also expressed mutual interest in strengthening bilateral contacts in the educational and humanitarian spheres.
