В книжном магазине «Фаланстер» прошла презентация книги «Циммервальдская альтернатива» (Черный квадрат, 2024), вышедшей к 110-й годовщине начала Первой мировой войны. Составители и редакторы сборника Алексей и Юлия Гусева, историки Дмитрий Рублев и Ярослав Леонтьев рассказали о книге и драматической истории антивоенного движения этого периода. (Презентация, кстати, прошла 11 сентября, в годовщину чудовищного расстрела политзаключенных Орловской тюрьмы в 1941 г., унесшего жизни многих бывших циммервальдистов.)
В ближайшее время мы опубликуем аудиозапись презентации.
А пока – теплый ламповый фоторепортаж из «Фаланстера».

Ukrainian forces successfully attacked Russian vehicles in the capital city of Kyiv thanks to a public tip made through the encrypted messaging app Telegram, Ukraine's top law-enforcement agency said on Tuesday. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis." There was another possible development: Reuters also reported that Ukraine said that Belarus could soon join the invasion of Ukraine. However, the AFP, citing a Pentagon official, said the U.S. hasn’t yet seen evidence that Belarusian troops are in Ukraine. The gold standard of encryption, known as end-to-end encryption, where only the sender and person who receives the message are able to see it, is available on Telegram only when the Secret Chat function is enabled. Voice and video calls are also completely encrypted.
