В 2025 году после ремонта открылся концертный зал «Finlandia-talo», спроектированный Аалто в 1971 году.

Алвар Аалто также спроектировал здания за рубежом, включая кампус MIT в США, Павильон в Базош-Сюр-Гионе, Церковь Риола в Италии и Дом Северных стран в Рейкьявике. В 1933-1935 годах по его проекту была построена библиотека в Выборге, которая носит его имя.

Айно Мария Марсио-Аалто (Aino Maria Marsio-Aalto), супруга и соратник Алвара, также была дизайнером. Вместе они создали много известных предметов мебели и декора, включая табуретки, кресла, стаканы и вазы.
