The Camauro and the Winter Mozzetta | The Inspiration Behind Santa’s Suit

The Camauro and the Winter Mozzetta are papal vestments that date back to the dark ages, originating somewhere between the 12th and 14th centuries. The Papal Camauro is a cap made from either red wool or more commonly, red velvet, with white ermine trim. The Winter Mozzetta is a cape worn by the Pope made of red velvet and trimmed with white ermine fur. These two garments were often paired together by Popes and bear an unmistakable striking resemblance to modern depictions of “Santa’s Suit. Furthermore, the man who is actually credited with creating the modern image of Santa Claus in his red suit is a man by the name of Thomas Nast, a Cartoonist for Harper’s Weekly. Nast just so happened to come from an Irish Roman Catholic family, was baptized in the Catholic Church of Sankt Maria, and was educated in Catholic schools.

During this “Christmas” Season just remember that Santa Claus is dressed like the Pope!

Telegram | DID YOU KNOW?

Date: |

One thing that Telegram now offers to all users is the ability to “disappear” messages or set remote deletion deadlines. That enables users to have much more control over how long people can access what you’re sending them. Given that Russian law enforcement officials are reportedly (via Insider) stopping people in the street and demanding to read their text messages, this could be vital to protect individuals from reprisals. In 2018, Russia banned Telegram although it reversed the prohibition two years later. As a result, the pandemic saw many newcomers to Telegram, including prominent anti-vaccine activists who used the app's hands-off approach to share false information on shots, a study from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue shows. Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. "We're seeing really dramatic moves, and it's all really tied to Ukraine right now, and in a secondary way, in terms of interest rates," Octavio Marenzi, CEO of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance Live on Thursday. "This war in Ukraine is going to give the Fed the ammunition, the cover that it needs, to not raise interest rates too quickly. And I think Jay Powell is a very tepid sort of inflation fighter and he's not going to do as much as he needs to do to get that under control. And this seems like an excuse to kick the can further down the road still and not do too much too soon."
