الطواغيت أنواع وأشكال، والقرآن الكريم حذرنا من جميع هذه الأنواع، لكي تكون عقيدتنا ويكون توحيدنا خالصاً لله وخالياً من شوائب الشرك والجاهلية التي مصدرها طاعة الطواغيت واتباع مناهجهم وتشريعاتهم. وقد ذكر الإمام محمد بن عبد الوهاب الطواغيت فقال: "والطواغيت كثيرة ورؤوسهم خمسة: إبليس لعنه الله، ومن عُبد وهو راضٍ، ومن دعا الناس إلى عبادة نفسه، ومن ادعى شيئاً من علم الغيب، ومن حكم بغير ما أنزل الله".
وسنذكر بعضاً من هذه الطواغيت القديمة الحديثة، والطواغيت الحديثة التي أصبحت مظاهر عبادتها في مجتمعاتنا المعاصرة واضحة وظاهرة للعيان، ولا تخفى على كل ذي لُب، وكل صاحب فطرة سليمة.
