Как стало известно «Ъ», в 2,7 млрд руб. по итогам завершившегося расследования оценил Следственный комитет России ущерб от деятельности бывшего начальника департамента имущественных отношений Минобороны Дмитрия Куракина, впоследствии занимавшего посты заместителя председателя правительства Подмосковья — министра экологии и природопользования, а также его сообщников. Все они обвиняются в злоупотреблении должностными полномочиями, мошенничестве и получении взяток на сумму более 60 млн руб. во время работы в Минобороны в период с 2012 по 2018 год. Речь идет о масштабной незаконной вырубке леса на территории воинских частей от Подмосковья до Дальнего Востока.
