В Самаркандской области у жителя Иштыханского района обнаружили тигрового питона, включенного в Международную Красную книгу, который содержался в неволе. Об этом сообщили в региональном управлении экологии, охраны окружающей среды и изменения климата.
Рептилия длиной 2,78 м была незаконно ввезена в Узбекистан и использовалась для проведения представлений в образовательных учреждениях.
В настоящее время тигровый питон временно содержится в реабилитационном центре Национального природного парка Зарафшана, где проходит осмотр.
