На просторах СМИ я регулярно встречаю неточность: когда речь заходит об ударах по православным храмам, то эти храмы относят к Греческой Православной Церкви. На самом деле православные церкви в Палестине, Сирии, Ливане и в других арабских странах (кроме Иордании) относятся к Антиохийскому Патриархату с центром в Дамаске, Сирия. Этот патриархат как и Иерусалимский — древнейший; службы ведутся на арабском языке.

На фото: древнейшая из сохранившихся в регионе православных церквей в честь Святой Фёклы в Латакии. Древняя — сама пещера, а церковь отстраивалась сирийскими властями в наше время.
