Сегодня День памяти жертв политических репрессий.

Покажу вам Сандармох. Карелия. Это глухое дальнее место в конце 1930-х стало местом массовых расстрелов.

Сосновый лес, мох и таблички. Повсюду: на камнях, на деревьях, на столбцах, на монументах и даже просто на земле. И имена. Как же их много!

Из-за хаотичности расположения кажется, что в лесу стоит толпа людей, которые когда-то были здесь расстреляны. Где-то группами, кучкуясь возле центральной тропы. Где-то поодаль, просто гуляют в лесу, и им не до кого нет дела.

Одинокие памятные столбы виднеются через лес и кажутся не столбами, а срубленными деревьями. Навечно срубленными деревьями. Которым не дали расти.

Здесь — вся история России. Священник, офицер, инженер. Философ, товаровед, этнограф.

Русские, грузины, латыши, поляки, немцы, татары, украинцы, евреи, — все. Все были равны перед Сандармохом.

В 1937-1938 годах тут расстреляли 6241 человека.

Perpetrators of such fraud use various marketing techniques to attract subscribers on their social media channels. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. That hurt tech stocks. For the past few weeks, the 10-year yield has traded between 1.72% and 2%, as traders moved into the bond for safety when Russia headlines were ugly—and out of it when headlines improved. Now, the yield is touching its pandemic-era high. If the yield breaks above that level, that could signal that it’s on a sustainable path higher. Higher long-dated bond yields make future profits less valuable—and many tech companies are valued on the basis of profits forecast for many years in the future. The picture was mixed overseas. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.6%, under pressure from U.S. regulatory scrutiny on New York-listed Chinese companies. Stocks were more buoyant in Europe, where Frankfurt’s DAX surged 1.4%.
