I read a lot of nonfiction. I do so as continuing education in my chosen profession as a homemaker. I do so in order to model lifelong learning for my children. But mostly, I do so because I genuinely love exploring ideas and learning new things.

I finished some great nonfiction books last year, and I thought I would share some that were especially interesting, informative or influential:
πŸ“š Mornings on Horseback: The Story of an Extraordinary Family, a Vanished Way of Life and the Unique Child Who Became Theodore Roosevelt by David McCullough
πŸ“š Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A. Price
πŸ“š The Unsettling of America: Culture and Agriculture by Wendell Berry
πŸ“š The Culture of Critique: An Evolutionary Analysis of Jewish Involvement in Twentieth-Century Intellectual and Political Movements by Kevin MacDonald
πŸ“š Balanced and Barefoot: How Unrestricted Outdoor Play Makes for Strong, Confident, and Capable Children by Angela J. Hanscom

"The most precious possession you have in this world is your own people.
And for this people, and for the sake of this people, we will struggle and fight and never slacken, never tire, never lose courage, and never lose faith."

From Adolf Hitler's speech at the Hitler Youth rally in Nuremberg, 1934
The silence during a big snow is one of the greatest things this planet has to offer. 🀍
