Жертвам атаки достаточно было посетить вредоносный веб-сайт, затем автоматически активировался эксплойт, и на компьютер устанавливался бэкдор RomCom. В итоге злоумышленники получали доступ к машине.
Число вероятных жертв варьируется от 1 до 250 на страну.

Messages are not fully encrypted by default. That means the company could, in theory, access the content of the messages, or be forced to hand over the data at the request of a government.
