Сегодня, в День памяти жертв политических репрессий, глава Совета по правам человека Валерий Фадеев и директор Музея истории ГУЛАГа Роман Романов возложили цветы к «Стене Скорби» на проспекте Сахарова.

Монумент работы скульптора Георгия Франгуляна был открыт семь лет назад, 30 октября 2017 года, после проведения открытого конкурса.

Основу композиции мемориала составляют взмывающие ввысь фигуры, символизирующие хрупкость человеческой жизни на фоне многотонной беспощадной системы.

Частью мемориала стали природные камни из регионов России, чья история связана с советскими политическими репрессиями. В ходе акции, организованной музеем, было собрано 173 камня из 58 регионов.

Ukrainian forces successfully attacked Russian vehicles in the capital city of Kyiv thanks to a public tip made through the encrypted messaging app Telegram, Ukraine's top law-enforcement agency said on Tuesday. The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
