Правильный вариант я узнал совсем недавно и был очень удивлён. Потому что всегда полагал, что жёлтая пресса так и переводится – Gelbe Presse. Оказалось, что у немцев это радужная пресса – Regenbogenpresse (от der Regenbogen - радуга).
Есть ещё два синонима Klatschpresse (от der Klatsch - сплетня) и Boulevardpresse (от der Boulevard - бульвар).
