Республика Марий Эл заняла 61 место в рейтинге регионов России по уровню преступности, уступив Татарстану, Чувашии и Нижегородской области, но обогнав Кировскую область.
По результатам 2024 года в республике было совершено 158,7 преступлений на 10 000 человек населения. По сравнению с 2023 годом их число увеличилось на 28,1%.
Количество тяжких и особо тяжких преступлений в Марий Эл составило 43,5 на 10 000 человек. По сравнению с позапрошлым годом их количество уменьшилось на 11,2%, информирует РИА Новости.
В 2023 году, по итогам 2022-го года, Марий Эл находилась на 30 месте. Было отмечено 123,5 преступлений на 10 000 человек населения.
