Обычно такие материалы изготавливают с изначально включенными в их структуру активными компонентами, а новый метод позволяет формировать тонкий слой фотокатализатора на поверхности уже готовых изделий. Разработанные в ИК СО РАН фотокатализаторы эффективны в широком спектральном диапазоне, включая УФ-излучение и видимый свет.
