Возглавит совет Совета Сергей Шойгу. В нём будут заниматься научно-методологическим и аналитическим обеспечением работы Совета безопасности, а также анализом актуальных угроз и разработкой рекомендаций по государственной политике в области безопасности.
Этим же указом упраздняется предыдущий Научный совет.
