Подвиг отряда лыжников Отдельной мотострелковой бригады особого назначения (ОМСБОН) под командованием старшего лейтенанта К.З.Лазнюка. Будучи окруженными превосходящими силами врага в деревне Хлуднево Думинического района Калужской области, они упорно сражались и погибли. Последний оставшийся в живых рядовой Л.Х.Паперник взорвал гранатой себя и окружавших его врагов. Паперник Лазарь Хаймович посмертно удостоен звания Героя Советского Союза.
