Название Citrus образовано из двух слов: city (англ. — город) и Russia (Россия). Вполне соответствует главной цели новой бюджетной авиакомпании, которая собирается перевозить пассажиров между региональными центрами, минуя Москву и Санкт-Петербург.
Группа S7 выбрала для базировки своего будущего лоукостера аэропорты Новосибирска, Воронежа, Челябинска, Тюмени. Об этом сообщил на ВЭФ-2021 Роман Троценко, чей холдинг "Новапорт" объединяет все четыре аэропорта.
Розовый станет "фирменным" цветом Citrus (к примеру, в раскраске самолетов).
На проект по созданию нового перевозчика S7 Group планирует направить до 3 млрд рублей. Лоукостер будет перевозить пассажиров на новых Airbus A320neo. Первые полеты запланированы на июль 2022 года.
