Об испытаниях первой односекционной машины сообщил Tg-канал «Ростовский трамвай». Также сейчас ведутся пусконаладочные работы: идет настройка двигателей, тестируется рабочая и экстренная тормозные системы. К настоящему времени в город возвращены 3 модернизированных трамвая, еще по четырем ведутся работы.
Всего модернизацию должны пройти 30 трамваев 71-911 CityStar, которые в город поставила «ПК Транспортные системы» в 2016-2017 годах. Работы ведутся в рамках концессионного соглашения, которое «Синара – ГТР» заключила с регионом весной-2023. При модернизации трамваи оснащают системами диспетчерского регулирования, видеонаблюдения, информирования пассажиров и кондиционерами.
Также в рамках концессии с 2026 года в Ростов-на-Дону должны начать поставляться 76 трехсекционных трамваев. В «Синара - Транспортные Машины» ранее анонсировали, что это будет подвижной состав их собственной разработки.
