Актуальность создания машины на УКВЗ связывают с нехваткой специальной техники – ремонтной и снегоуборочной – у эксплуатирующих организаций. Как сообщили ROLLINGSTOCK на предприятии, машина создается на базе модели трамвая 71-623, серийно выпускаемой с 2009 года. «Она позволит осуществлять перевозку необходимых грузов как при ремонте и строительстве трамвайных путей, так и в других случаях», – указали в УКВЗ. Поступление заказов ожидается сразу после появления прототипа.

Сегодня УКВЗ активно вкладывается в НИОКР. Уже произведен первый образец новой трехсекционной модели трамвая, запланирован выпуск еще одной, а также пятисекционной машины, внедряется система предиктивной диагностики.
