Строительство позволило увеличить мощность порта с 55 до 58 млн тонн. Длина причального фронта составила 355 метров и обеспечила возможность ставить под погрузку крупнотоннажные суда. Глубины у причалов уже составляют 16,5 метров. Это позволило значительно повысить производительность обработки флота. Особое внимание при строительстве объекта и последующей его эксплуатации уделено экологической безопасности.
