Ten senior commanders and Iraqi officials said the move comes after U.S. warnings to Baghdad that failure to disband militias could lead to American airstrikes. Talks between Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and militia leaders are reportedly "very advanced," according to Shi'ite politician Izzat al-Shahbndar.
