С запада от неё поезда поехали по вторым путям перегона Буреинск – Новый Ургал, с востока – двухпутка появилась на участке Чемчуко – Мугуле.
Объекты расположены на заболоченной территории. В тех местах, где возможно подтопление, обустроили бермы и водопропускные трубы, а земляное полотно подняли на высоту до 7 метров. В общей сложности переработали почти 240 тыс. м³ грунта.
Всего во время модернизации перегонов уложили 10 км пути и 11 стрелочных переводов, возвели 2 моста.
Строительство вторых путей на подходах к Новому Ургалу увеличило провозную способность прилегающих участков БАМа Февральск – Новый Ургал и Новый Ургал – Комсомольск-на-Амуре.
