Заяц-беляк (Lepus timidus) – это обычный, в отдельные годы многочисленный вид в заповеднике. Наиболее благоприятными для обитания биотопами являются поймы рек, поросшие тальниками и разнотравно-кустарниковыми смешанными лесами. У верхней границы леса зайцы селятся по ерниковым зарослям, в сплошную тайгу заселяются по кустарниковым поймам рек и ручьев. 🌲🍃
А знаете, за что зайца прозвали «косым»? Угол зрения у зайца-беляка составляет 180º, что позволяет ему видеть все происходящее по бокам и сзади. А вот для того, чтобы видеть прямо перед собой, ему приходится поворачивать голову то одним, то другим боком. Вот и создается впечатление, будто заяц косит. 😁👀
