В соборе его встретил патриарх Иосиф. Начался молебен. После того как Царю были вручены знаки монаршей власти, патриарх приступил к совершению литургии. После исполнения Херувимской Алексея Михайловича подвели к царским вратам. Патриарх надел на Государя последнюю коронационную регалию – золотую цепь, а затем миропомазал Самодержца.
