Разгром русского посольства в Тегеране

11 февраля (30 января) 1829 года в Тегеране религиозными фанатиками было совершено массовое убийство сотрудников русского посольства, возглавляемого Александром Грибоедовым, и укрывшихся в нём армянских беженцев.
Тело Грибоедова было перевезено в Российскую империю и захоронено в Тифлисе на горе Мтацминда. Останки погибших сотрудников Российской миссии и 35 казаков были похоронены во дворе армянской церкви святого Татевоса в Тегеране.
