Сначала тянули резину с передачей здания больницы из РЖД в краевую собственность. Дотянули, пока здание не стало разваливаться.
Затем поступил негласный запрет лечить людей в стационаре больницы. А раз нет пациентов - значит стационар не нужен. В декабре 2021 года издан приказ о закрытии стационара, сотрудникам выданы уведомления о сокращении.
В сентябре 2020 года тогда еще врио губернатору Хабаровского края Михаилу Дегтярёву жители поселка направляли письмо с просьбой сохранить больницу. Письмо подписали 736 жителей Высокогорного. Но голоса людей никто не слышит. И не собирается слушать.
Михаил Дегтярёв перед выборами заявил, что объездил весь Хабаровский край, но и это оказалось профанацией. В поселок Высокогорный он не приезжал.
