Его отец и дядя прошли всю Гражданскую войну, которая началась для них с партизанского отряда полковника Чернецова. Отцу Николая Александровича было всего 15 лет, когда он в одном из боёв против красных получил за храбрость Георгиевский крест 4-й степени.
Его мать, Ирина Туроверова сохраняла память о покойном муже и его брате, а сам Николай Александрович продолжил это святое дело послее ее смерти.
