Сюжет с политической подоплёкой. Криминальный босс в исполнении Винсента Прайса покупает выборы мэра, платя работягам за правильный голос. Одним из таких работяг становится папаша героини Дурбин. Они полностью доверяют Прайсу. А честный репортёр, любовный интерес Дурбин, пытается их переубедить.
Сценарий довольно ясный, хоть и схематичный. Винсент Прайс украшает вообще любой фильм, в котором он появляется хоть на минуту. А здесь у него роль довольно большая – его пытаются показать довольно хитрым и расчётливым человеком. Вышел он действительно относительно неплохо. Остальные герои совсем одномерные.
Социальный комментарий очевидный и простой, но он по крайней мере есть. Впрочем, фильм настолько лёгкий, что политическая подоплёка остаётся таким забавным фоном, показывать тяжёлые последствия фальсифицирования выборов никто не собирается.

The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
