В лодочке качается князь Глеб,
А из глаз ушла и тоска, и страх.
"Да за что погиб ты?"- "За чёрный хлеб,
За парное молоко в материнских руках.

Я единой Руси для братьев хотел,
Скоморошный, чудной, бестолковый шут,
Вот я и плыву через лагерь тел,
И все кровь мою подтереть прошу.

За селянина, что сгоняет овец
Под прозрачной пылью к малому пруду.
Чтобы сын мужал и не трусил отец,
Чтобы были привычны не к войне, а к труду.

А чего-то вышло, идёт печенег,
Да кривая сабля, да черная рать.
Вот какая доля досталась мне:
Не в бою, а от повара помирать.

Только будет, будет святая Русь
Из костей Бориса да крови моей
А иначе не будет - смотри, не трусь,
Кровь всему голова, так будет верней".
