General Sir Richard Shirreff, former NATO commander:
"Europe and Canada need to form a new alliance. Effectively NATO is now holed below the waterline (i.e., damaged beyond repair)."
There you have it, folks. Trump managed to dismantle the entire Western security structure in a matter of four weeks.

Now that we're seeing both the US and Russian governments interfering with European elections, all European countries should ban all pro-US and pro-Russian parties.
Europe First.
Europe First.
What if Trump doesn't actually have a "method in the madness"? What if he's just an 80-year old narcissistic nutcase who has surrounded himself with incompetent yes-men (real estate capitalists and news anchors), and he's in the process of completely fucking up his own country and the whole West with it?
I get the impression very few people have actually considered that possibility.

If someone describes Russia as a "Christian" country in a way they wouldn't describe other countries in Europe as "Christian", you should disregard everything they say about Russia. They don't know what they are talking about.
In reality, Russia is a very irreligious country. There are far more practicing Christians in the United States or even Spain, Poland, or Greece.
Inb4 someone says "What about the ban on gay propaganda?" It's a sensible policy, but being Christian entails faith in Christ and attending church. Simply opposing homosexuality is not the extent of actually practising the religion.

This is fascinating. For almost a decade, Trump's American opponents have accused him of "working for Russia" -- is there anything more he could have done to prove them right?
While the accusation may well be silly, this time around he has taken just about every action he would have if it were true. He is even giving Russia "Israel privilege" in international assemblies (US vetos criticism).
Maybe he'll offer to repair Nord Stream for them, too?
I wonder if any of his people will break ranks out of disgust, or if they'll go along and humor Caligula for four whole years. (Of course they'll go along.)

So Trump's plan was that he should force the Ukrainians to sign a deal, with made-up numbers of American contributions...
...for him (Trump) to take over a 50% part ownership of their country for nothing in a protection racket scheme...
...so that he could convince the American people that, if Russia continues killing hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, the US should place sanctions on Russia.
Wow. What a great deal to end the war. Zelensky was totally unreasonable not to sign it.

Sure it's grotesque to see Trump lying and gaslighting about Russia-Ukraine. But it's far more disgusting to see all the other politicians and journalists who KNOW he's lying say "oh that's just Trump being Trump" - sweeping it under the rug, as if truth doesn't matter at all.
The political leaders of Europe are every bit as guilty as Caligula Trump. It is 11 years since Russia invaded Ukraine and we've now had 3 years of full-scale war, and these fucking people are STILL dragging their feet about defense.
They have had plenty of time to do something, but they kicked the can down the road, waiting for someone else to come in... and now that "someone" has come in, but instead of negotiating an end to the war he is trying to plunder what's left of Ukraine, acting like a grave robber... But that is on Biden and the European leaders for not doing anything but "wait and see" for three whole years.
Inaction has a price.

This probably is more true than not. Trump hates Zelensky because he makes for bad photo ops. It's more flattering to take pictures with Xi and Putin. Therefore the US must shut down Starlink so the yucky Ukrainians can't defend themselves.
"Just get it over with. Ew!"
I've often speculated that if Ukraine had a better looking president who spoke proper English, they would have gotten more serious support from the West. Especially from a pathological narcissist like Trump.
History works in mysterious ways.
