Ученые выяснили, что фермент катепсин D расщепляет амилоидные фибриллы — скопления неправильно свернутых белков, приводящие к гибели нервных клеток при болезнях Альцгеймера и Паркинсона. Однако такое расщепление не делает фибриллы безопасными для клеток, а напротив, может способствовать формированию новых патологических скоплений. Это открытие поможет лучше понять механизмы развития заболеваний, связанных с накоплением амилоидов, и разрабатывать лекарства для борьбы с ними. Результаты исследования, поддержанного грантом Российского научного фонда (РНФ), опубликованы в International Journal of Biological Macromolecules.

On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. But Telegram's use as a one-way broadcast channel — which followers can join but not reply to — means content from inauthentic accounts can easily reach large, captive and eager audiences. On Telegram’s website, it says that Pavel Durov “supports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)’s input is technological.” Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands.
