В деревне у Деда Макс получает важные жизненные уроки и встречает свою первую любовь. Действие фильма разворачивается в трёх эпохах: в нашем времени, в девяностых и в послевоенном СССР сороковых годов. И все они связаны размышлениями о том, что же такое настоящая любовь.
