Он был и останется навсегда легендой для всех участников движения КВН и миллионов зрителей. С 1964 года он вел программу «КВН», став символом юмора и сатиры в России и за её пределами.
Александр Васильевич получил множество наград, был полным кавалером ордена «За заслуги перед Отечеством», и основателем творческого объединения «АМиК». Его вклад в развитие отечественного развлекательного телевидения невозможно переоценить.
